Ferenc Kos, a long-time Soviet war prisoner returns to his small house in the middle of harsh rocky hills with broken health and a trodden spirit. His wife has died and his son has been raised by his sister-in-law, the hard working, hunch-backed, old maid Tera. She now turns her attention to Ferenc who, thanks to her sacfifice, recovers from the hardships he has suffered. Tera develops a hopeless jealous love for Ferenc and when he marries the beautiful and young Zsuzsa, Tera makes living all together an unbearable hell. |
